GGC Environment Policy

At Garry Gillespie Constructions Pty Ltd our Environmental Policy is accredited to ISO 14001:2004 and is based on the belief that the environment surrounding the space we are building, or modifying, and affected by our work is a major priority and must be considered during all work performed on our behalf.

The objectives of our Environment Policy are:

  1. To provide a workplace and methods that minimise the effect on our environment for human and animal habitat, not only due to emissions of substance and energy (in forms of noise heat and light), but also in terms of cultural amenity (in terms of existing use, heritage and Aboriginal culture).
  2. They make compliance with environmental emissions and the continued improvement of our affect on the environment an integral part of every managerial and supervisory position, both in our employee and contracted, alike.
  3. To ensure that the environment is considered in all planning and work activities.
  4. To involve our employees and contractors in the decision making processes through regular communication, consultation and training.
  5. To provide a continuous program of education and learning to ensure that our employees and contractors work in a manner that will least affect the surrounding environment.
  6. To identify and control all potential environmental risks in the workplace through a method of risk analysis.
  7. To ensure that all potential emissions of substance energy (in the forms of noise, heat and light) are controlled and minimised.
  8. To provide effective environmental management and rehabilitation.

The success of our environment management is dependent on:

  1. Pro-active planning of all work activities with due consideration given to implementing environmental management controls that are suitable to each given situation.
  2. Understanding the total work process and associated environmental risks.
  3. Ensuring the work team is totally committed to achieving our objectives.
  4. Ensuring that open an honest communication exists between management and all employees of the Principal and Contractors.
